Rajasthan is a land of cultural festivals and fairs, Marwar Festival is among the most exciting festivals celebrated every year in Jodhpur (Rajasthan) in the month of Ashwin which is a Hindu month that falls between the months of September and October.The festival is celebrated to commemorate the bravery of the great Rajput rulers of the Marwar and is all about dance and music of the Marwar region.

Marwar festival was originally known as the ‘Maand’ festival due to a folk music named Maand being performed in the festival which is the main theme and a major attraction of the festival.Maand Music and dance speak about the romantic lifestyle of the Rajput rulers.The festival also throws different colors of Rajasthani culture in the festival in the form of various fun activities such as camel tattoo show, horse riding, puppet show, magic show, and horse polo.

The Mehrangarh historic and the Ummaid Bhawan Royal serve as the venues for the vibrant Marwar festival.The festival is also celebrated at an outskirt location named ‘Mandore’ which is around 8 Kms from the Jodhpur city.Mandore used to be the capital of Marwar and has great historical significance.
