A proud moment for every Udaipurite, shooting ace Apurvi Chandela from Udaipur became the world’s number one shooter in the 10m air rifle followed by Anjum Moudgil on the second spot. Apurvi secured the top spot owing to her glittering past achievements which include clinching gold with a world record score of 252.9 at the ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) world cup in February, Gold in Glassgow Commonwealth(2014), and bronze, she narrowly missed a medal and secured fourth place in the recent World Cup held in Beijing. Apurvi is connected to both Udaipur and Jaipur, she is basically from Udaipur and stays with her parents in Jaipur, this might clear up the confusion.
There were celebrations both in Jaipur and Udaipur after the families got the information about this feat of Apurvi on Wednesday. Apurvi tweeted “Touched a milestone in my shooting career today!”.
