Power lifter from Udaipur, Mihir Soni won four gold medals in 59 kg category and the title ‘Strongman of Commonwealth’ in the sub junior category of the Commonwealth Powerlifter Championship held in South Africa.Mihir lifted 170 Kg in squat, 80 Kg in the bench press, and 170 kg in the deadlift, a total of 420 kg weight winning 4 golds in all the above events.
Many friends, politicians, sports officials congratulated Mihir over the mobile phone after winning the medals.Mihir will be reaching Udaipur on 20th September from South Africa, various sports organisations, sportsmen, friends, and family members will give him grand welcome.
This is a ‘feather in the cap’ for the Udaipur city, we congratulate Mihir Soni and wish him good luck to rise further to the Olympics and bring laurels to the city and Nation.
