Know About Maharana Kumbha Height With Proof

Mewar had been the land of many brave rulers, one such ruler was Maharana Kumbha, who is said to be the tallest ruler of Mewar, Rajasthan. Maharana Kumbha is the grandfather of Udai Singh 2, Maharana Kumbha built as many as 30 forts which include the Kumbhalgarh Fort

which is a world heritage site. He never lost any battle.

Maharana Kumbha had a giant physique, many claim his height to be 8-9 feet, but was he really such tall, the proof of his height lies in the Kumbhalgarh Fort situated in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan near Udaipur. Kumbhalgarh fort is known for its 36 km long wall which is the greatest wall in the world after the great wall of china. It has around 300 temples inside its walls, one of those temples is the Neelkanth Mahadev temple which houses the proof of the giant physique of Maharana which is a 5  feet tall shivlinga, this huge shivling is built keeping in mind the giant physique of maharana kumbha, he was so giant that he used to do Abhishek and Tilak of the shivling just by sitting on the ground.

That’s unbelievable isn’t it?

Abhishek is the process of pouring water or milk or honey over the top of the shivling so doing abhishek of the 5 feet tall shivling is a big deal.

In this picture, the person(our teammate) you see is around 5’8 feet tall and with reference to his height, the height of the shivling can be concluded which is 5 feet.

A 5’8 Guy Standing Before Neelkanth Mahadev Temple Shivling

A normal person sitting would look like this:

A normal person would not even reach shivling forget about doing the Abhishek. For a person to do Abhishek his body above the waist must be at least 4-4.5 feet high and if the body above the waist is 4 feet then the full body should be 8 feet minimum so we can say Maharana Kumbha’s height was approximately 8 feet. Also the gates of this temple are 10 feet height which also suggests the height of Maharana Kumbha. Some people also say that Maharana Kumbha got huge arms too, he used to hug the shivling by holding the complete shivling while sitting, however, it is as per people and local guides and there’s no mention of this thing in any historical text source.

So What you have to say about it do mention it in the comments.
