Udaipur continues to be the favorite Bollywood and small screen location but we don’t see many from the city making it to the Bollywood or television, however, there are few talented actors from Udaipur who decided to make a career in acting and finally made it to the television and the silver screen, Rahul Singh is one them.
Rahul Singh was born in Udaipur, Rahul has acted in 24 films some of them are Zubeida, Baadshah, Delhi Belli, Tere Bin Laden, stanley ka dabba, Khiladi 786, Ghazi Attack, and Dragon.He has also acted in tv serials such as Sapno ke bhanwar mai, and ’24’.He was born to a Thakur family with the jagirdari background.His father was studying and doing farming when he was born, his mother Dr. Prabha Thakur is a well-known poet and member of parliament.They moved to Mumbai as his mother didn’t have much opportunity in her field in Udaipur, Rahul was in 1st standard then.His father got into the construction business with one of his friend from Rajasthan.Rahul studied in silver beach high school in Mumbai but he wasn’t doing well, he didn’t listen, he used to write love letters due to this he was sent back to Rajasthan where he studied in Mayo college, Ajmer till class 12th and did his graduation St. Xavier’s college where he started theatre.

His parents at this time moved back to Udaipur where his father got into the hotels and owned hotels and his mother went into politics, she is a three-time member of parliament and was also the president of the All India Women Congress, she is amongst the senior-most congress politicians.Rahul went to England after graduation and joined Royal Academy of arts for three years then he got back and started modeling, he did his first ad film with Abhinay Deo and after that, he got his first break from Shyam Benegal who cast him in the Movie Zubeida.He also got roles in the tv serial ’24’ and Delhi Belly as coincidently Abhinay Deo was directing the two.
We are proud to have such actor who has his roots in the lake city, hope other aspiring actors from the city should keep the struggle and one day we see them on the silver screen or the television.
