Nitin Babel, the co-founder of the online transaction app ‘Niki’ was awarded ’30 Under 30′ award by Forbes, this prestigious award is awarded to the most innovative entrepreneurs, Nitin was also awarded ‘Young Alumni Achiever Award 2019 (YAAA 19)’ by IIT Kharagpur.
About the ‘Niki App’
‘Niki’ is the only transaction app in the country which is helping 45 lakh users to do the online transactions in their regional language, app also has voice support for transaction, many reputed investors like Ratan Tata, unilazer ventures, Sap IO and many more have invested in this project. Language is a big hurdle faced during the online transaction and this app has helped overcome this hurdle and in a way encouraging people to transact online. This app supports English, Hindi, Bangla, Tamil languages.
The app is a result of four Ex-IIT Kharagpur students, Nitin Babel, Sachin Jaiswal, Keshav Pravasi, and Shishir Modi, during the financial year 2018 Niki AI app attained GMV run rate of 30 million dollars and revenue of 1 million dollars, after addition of Hindi language a growth of 300% seen in Hindi GMV which is around 60 million USD.
